Quick start
The essential steps to go from a new account to a running job. Each step links to the full page for that topic.
Try it first
You can open the app without an account. The sign-in screen has a Live demo button that opens a contractor account with sample data in it. See Explore the demo.
1. Create your account
The fastest route is Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft on the sign-in screen — no password to invent and no verification email to wait for. Otherwise:
- Open the app and select Sign up.
- Enter your name, email address and a password (8+ characters, with a letter and a number or symbol).
- Open the verification email and follow the link.
Your 14-day trial starts immediately either way. No payment details are required.

2. Create your first order
An order is a customer plus the work you are doing for them. Creating an order creates the customer record at the same time.
- Go to Orders and select New order.
- Enter the customer, a project name and a project type.
- Save.
The site address, dates, price and files can be added later from the order.
Full details: Create an order.
3. Update the status as work progresses
Each order carries a status, from Inquiry through to Work Complete. Select the status badge at the top of the order to change it. Every change is recorded in the order's history, and customers with portal access are shown the new status in customer-facing wording.
Full details: Job statuses.
4. Invite the people who need updates
This step is optional. The app works fully with only you signed in.
- Customers can be invited to a portal showing their order's status, balance and a message thread with you.
- Subcontractors can be invited to a portal showing only the orders you assign them.
- Crew are recorded on an order by name and do not sign in.
Send invites from the order's People tab or from the People directory.
Full details: Invite people.
5. Record payments and send the invoice
The Billing tab on each order holds the agreed total, payments received and the balance. When the work is done, select Complete order from the status badge. The close-out sheet can record the final payment and email the invoice to the customer.
Full details: Track payments and Project invoices.
