Branded emails

Every email the app sends for you — an invite, a message from an order, the final invoice — uses the same signature and the same design. Both are set in Settings → Branding.

The signature

The Signature card is who the email is from:

  • Business name — what goes in the masthead and the sign-off. Leave it blank and your own name is used.
  • Accent — one colour, used throughout the email.
  • Heading font — System, Serif or Condensed.
  • Masthead — how the accent arrives at the top: a thin Rule across it, a filled Band behind your name, or a stripe down the left Edge.
  • Background — the surround: soft Grey, an Accent tint, or plain White.
  • Logo — a URL to an image already hosted somewhere. There is no upload; the logo is fetched from wherever it lives.
  • Signature — the sign-off itself. Placeholders work here, so Thanks so much, {{contractor}} writes your business name in for you.

The preview under the form is drawn by the same code that sends the mail, so what you see there is what lands.

Templates

A template is an email you send often, written once: a name, a subject and a body. Add as many as you need and drag them into the order you want them offered.

Templates are offered when you email a customer from an order, via the contact button. Choosing one fills in the subject and body, which remain editable before sending. Placeholders are filled from the order, so one template can be used on any order.

Placeholders

Three placeholders are available. The Insert row under each field adds them at the cursor.

Formatting

A body can carry light formatting, and the Format row writes the marks for you: bold, italic, a heading, bullets, a numbered list, a callout, a link, a button and a divider. The preview shows the result, including the plain-text version used by mail clients that do not render HTML. Anything else, including HTML, is sent as typed.

Where it shows up

  • Messages from an order — the contact button on any order, choosing email.
  • The final invoice — sent when you close an order out, and available to preview from the Billing tab. See Project invoices.
  • Invites — to customers and subcontractors.

The demo cannot send

The shared demo account renders emails but does not send them. Your own account sends email once your address is verified.
