Explore the demo
You do not need an account to see the app. The sign-in screen has a Live demo button that opens a contractor account with sample data already in it: customers, orders at every stage, messages, photos, and invoices both part-paid and settled.
The demo is the real application with sample data, not a set of screenshots.
See both sides of a job
The demo is the one place you can stand on both ends of the same order without two logins. On any order, the ⇄ button in the top bar opens your customer's portal on that same job, and the banner across the top names whose view you are in with a Leave preview button to come back.
Messages work in both directions from there. Write as the customer, leave the preview, and it is in the order's thread — attributed to the customer, counted in your Response needed list, reactions and all, because it is an ordinary thread. Reply from your side, switch back, and it is waiting.
This is a demo-only capability
Writing from a preview is allowed because the demo's customer is fictional. On a real account the customer's portal is theirs alone — there is no way to put words in a real customer's thread.
Suggested tour
- Open the Dashboard to see Today's jobs and Response needed with a full week of work in them.
- Open any order from Orders. Select the status badge and move the order to the next status. Then open the History tab and read the sentence under They see, which is what the customer is told.
- Still on that order, select ⇄ in the top bar, open Messages in the portal, and send yourself a message as the customer. Leave preview, and read it on the contractor's side of the same thread.
- Open the Billing tab on a part-paid order and record a payment.
- Go to People and open a subcontractor. Change their tier and reopen one of their orders to see what changes.
- Open Settings → Branding, then Preview email on an order's Billing tab, to see how the branding appears in a customer's inbox.
What the preview allows
The banner says which it is: messages only, or read-only where even that is closed.
- Messages and reactions can be sent, from either side.
- Everything else is refused. Uploading or withdrawing a document, ticking an ask off, changing an account setting — the control stays visible and disabled with the reason on it, so you can still see the screen the customer would get.
Limitations
- The demo cannot send email. Invoices and messages render and report as sent, but nothing is delivered. Invites are refused outright: the demo never hands out portal access, and its sample customer is fictional, so there is nobody to send a sign-in link to.
- The demo is shared. Every visitor gets the same account. Two people in it at the same time will interrupt each other — the second one's arrival rebuilds the workspace the first is looking at, conversation included.
- Conversations are scratch. Entering the demo clears them, so a tour never opens on the last visitor's chat, and one thread keeps its 50 most recent messages while you are in it.
- Do not enter real customer details. Everything here is discarded, and anyone can open it.
Demo not available?
The demo can be disabled by whoever runs your installation. If the button is not on your sign-in screen, it has been turned off.
